How to calculate vat in Egypt
Formula:
Add Tax
Tax Amount = ( Original Cost * VAT% ) / 100
Net Price = Original Cost + Tax Amount
Remove Tax
Tax Amount = Original Cost – ( Original Cost * ( 100 / ( 100 + VAT% ) ) )
Net Price = Original Cost – Tax Amount
Example
Find the VAT price and net price in Egypt (GST % is 10) for an amount of 45000 £
Add Tax
Solution :
GST % = 10
Amount = 45000
Step 1 :
GST Price = (45000 * 10 ) / 100
= 4500 £
Step 2 :
Net Price = 45000 + 4500
= 49500 £
Hence the VAT Price is 4500 £ and the Net Price is 49500 £
Remove Tax
Solution :
GST % = 10
Amount = 45000
Step 1 :
GST Price = 45000 – (45000 * ( 100 / (100 + 10)))
= 45000 – (45000 * 0.90)
= 45000 – 40500
GST Price = 4500 £
Step 2 :
Net Price = 45000 – 4500
= 40500 £
Hence the VAT Price is 4500 £ and the Net Price is 40500£
