Formula:
Add Tax
Tax Amount = ( Original Cost * VAT% ) / 100
Net Price = Original Cost + Tax Amount
Remove Tax
Tax Amount = Original Cost – ( Original Cost * ( 100 / ( 100 + VAT% ) ) )
Net Price = Original Cost – Tax Amount
Example
Find the VAT price and net price in France (GST % is 20) for an amount of 30000 FF
Add Tax
Solution :
GST % = 20
Amount = 30000
Step 1 :
GST Price = (30000 * 20 ) / 100
= 6000 FF
Step 2 :
Net Price = 30000 + 6000
= 36000 FF
Hence the VAT Price is 6000 FF and Net Price is 36000 FF
Remove Tax
Solution :
GST % = 20
Amount = 30000
Step 1 :
GST Price = 30000 – (30000 * ( 100 / (100 + 20)))
GST Price = 5000 FF
Step 2 :
Net Price = 30000 – 5000
